The search for the elusive Higgs Boson particle, also known as the ‘God particle’ has entered a new phase as scientists working at CERN claim they are closer than ever to spotting it. [Continue reading article → The Washington Post, December 13, 2011]
The confirmation of the Higgs Boson of quantum physics (read related posts here in our site), dubbed the “God Particle,” is about to revolutionize science, and, I expect, our worldview of existence, reality, life, and the universe, including our puny human selves. To a practicing mystic, this could well globally usher in the transformative understanding and illumination that the world of matter is indeed not only fleetingly unreal but also truly illusory — something that mystics down through time’s corridors have realized for ages. And hopefully, with that understanding will come the realization that all existence emanates from a Zero Point Field, a singularity of emptiness and no-thing-ness, a total void against which the etheric light of individuated Christ-consciousness shines — our true Self.
In the face of all the science and media hoopla regarding the so-called “God Particle,” my soul can only sing the song “The Impossible Dream” from the musicale The Man of La Mancha.
The mission of each true knight is… to dream the impossible dream, to try when your arms are too weary, to reach the unreachable star.

This is the quest: to follow that star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far.
Yes, this is our ultimate quest: the realization of Truth/God — “The Impossible Dream” to be dreamt, “The Unreachable Star” to be reached. This is what the pursuit of the Higgs Boson really means: the attainment of that Impossible Dream. To this end, I am pretty much Don Quixote. Are you, too?
