What makes a being sentient? That
is a very interesting question, and any answer is bound to be fascinating.
PBS recently premiered a NOVA Nature documentary series titled “Inside Animal Minds.” The third segment of the series — “Who’s the Smartest?” — was particularly engaging and stimulating, as it tackled questions of intelligence, awareness, sense of self, introspection, feelings, emotions, and related other matters, that can be indubitable indicators of human-like sentience in certain animal species outside of the human species.
Indeed, human beings are not the only sentient beings on this planet apparently. Watch the video documentary and see for yourself.
