Oneness: Always and Forever

Your oneness with God is absolute, meaning to say that there is nothing — absolutely NOTHING — that separates you from God, has separated you from God in the past, and will ever separate you from God in the future. There is no point when you have ever been separate from God. Never have you ever been separate from God. That spiritual oneness was established long before creation, and it will continue infinitely even unto the very end of time, itself.

Nothing whatsoever you can do; no amount of so-called transgressions against God or mortal and venial sins of commission or omission separates you from God. However, we may fall out of the actual personal experience and effect of that oneness, and thereby its benefits, when we engage and indulge in the human state of consciousness, that is, the state of humanhood in which we believe that we exist and live separate and apart from God with respect to our individual being, our personal lives, and the world around us.

In the human condition that prevails and dominates our humanity, we do not have a conscious awareness of the truth of oneness with God. Everything in the finite physical world we live in tells us the contrary through the perceptions of our bodily senses and the conditioned human mind. Religions reinforce the human belief that we are mere human mortals with an ignorant, rebellious, morally sinful nature; so, the programming continues perpetuating itself from one generation to the next. Nothing in this world of forms and effects will convince us of our oneness with God: Everything runs against the grain of that mystical truth. Such is the nature of this world, and it could not be and will not be otherwise.

For this reason, we retreat to a particular state of mind in the practice of meditation where we can enter a state of inner peace, inner silence and inner stillness — an escape from everyday human awareness and a momentary relief from the onslaughts of the human ego and the conditioned mind. In that meditative state of mind, we enter the perfect atmosphere and environment by which we can realize the truth of our oneness with God. This is the main reason why we meditate — to realize God in the truth of God’s presence and oneness.

With the spiritual realization of oneness, which we directly experience and attain in our conscious union with God, we transcend humanhood. We are transformed or transfigured as we undergo the profound shift in consciousness from a perceived sense of humanhood to our natural and true divinity, that oneness in God which has always been our true state of being.

Unchanging Oneness with God

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans, 8:38-39, NKJV)

The only way to begin understanding mystical “oneness” is to approach it from the truth of absolute non-separation from God. If you look at your own human nature, you will only see its many illusions, and there is nothing real or true that an illusion can teach you. An illusion does not exist in pretty much the same way a desert mirage does not exist. It has no essence in itself, no truth to itself, no reality of itself.

God is the way and the truth. And “I” am (is-ing) that way and that truth. Go look within for that “I” that you are. If you find it, you find your Self, God and the realized Truth of oneness.

About Marc of Contemplative Pathways

Marc teaches contemplative meditation in the context of contemporary mysticism. His understanding of the mystical life is rooted in over 30 years of study, practice, unfoldment, realization and experience, in the course of which he has received the gifts of spiritual discernment and transmission. His teaching work meaningfully shifts consciousness in a student through the process and alchemy of mystical transformation. Marc facilitates the mystical teachings under the style of Contemplative Pathways, enabling others to embark on the spiritual journey by learning the Truth teaching and living its principles. He has been conducting classes and meditation meetings in the San Francisco Bay Area in a classroom, lecture, workshop or group practice setting, for over fifteen years. His methodology of instruction is divinely inspired and firmly rooted in pure, authentic mysticism. His approach to the mystical life is essentially nondenominational, nonsectarian, culturally interfaith, spiritually transreligious, and definitively unitive and nondualistic. His other contributions to worldwide spiritual awakening and the global contemplative movement include spiritual mentoring and spiritual healing practice. Within the context of the great shift in consciousness now occurring all over the planet, Marc’s work presently focuses on individual and collective spiritual transformation and healing through the practice of contemplation or meditation, as the vehicle for transcendence and ascension to the higher dimensions of mystical consciousness. He remains firmly committed to the vision of a global spiritual awakening and the divine promise of humanity’s mystical illumination.
