Behold the Man: Shroud of Turin Update

I recently came across the following videos which document recent studies and findings on the controversial Shroud of Turin.  They boggle the mind!  Watch them.

  • The Real Face of Jesus? — This video documents how a face (as well as its body) has been extracted and reproduced from the holographic information contained in the images found on the Shroud of Turin, through the process of computerized digital imaging.

  • The Fabric of Time — This video advances the theory that the Shroud of Turin is an artifact of the resurrection event, when viewed as a quantum hologram and explained in terms of the quantum physics suggested by the information from the hologram. It suggests that the cosmic power of a “singularity” might have been the same power behind the resurrection. In other words, the same power that kicked in the Big Bang and created the universe appears to have produced the resurrection event.

Not at all a surprising conclusion when you consider that the power in a singularity is the oneness of God at the unmanifest level of the Spirit or what quantum physicists refer to as the “zero-point field.”  Nonetheless, the direct transformation of a physical human body into a glorified body of light presumes the continuity of life in the physical body at the start of and during the transformation (that is, the life force was still very much intact in the physical body as would have prevented natural decomposition and decay from setting in).  In short, the physical body undergoing resurrection might not have been dead at all in the final sense.

Note: The documentary is made up of six video parts.  Remember to observe the correct sequencing of those parts.  Leave the “annotations” button (the red callout icon on the bar at the bottom of the video screen) ON during the video playback; a prompt box for the next numbered part will appear just before the ending of the video segment. Click the prompt box for the next part in the sequence.  (If you encounter video sequencing problems, you can view the entire series at YouTube.)

  • The Shroud of Turin New Evidence — a BBC documentary.  The argument over the authenticity of the Turin Shroud has taken a new twist after researchers say they may have found fresh evidence that the cloth bears the face of Jesus (Yeshua).  A team carrying out work in some of Rome’s ancient catacombs have discovered a ceiling fresco which they believe shows the same man as the image on the holy relic. They believe that the portrait dates from as early as 60 AD (or CE), indicating it may have been painted by someone who had actually seen Jesus while he lived.  If correct, the radio-carbon dating test results of the Shroud become open to doubt and question.

Could Jesus have survived the crucifixion as postulated in the last documentary above?  What do you think?  We’d like to know what you think?  Leave your opinion or comments below.

About Marc of Contemplative Pathways

Marc teaches contemplative meditation in the context of "contemporary mysticism" under the style of "Contemplative Pathways." His spiritual work is backed by a profound understanding of mystical teachings and the mystical life, that is rooted in fifty (50) years of personal study, practice and spiritual unfoldment (inner realization and spiritual experience).  In the course of his spiritual journey, he has received the gifts of mystical discernment and spiritual transmission. Marc has been conducting classes and meetings on contemporary mysticism and meditation at the San Francisco Bay Area for over fifteen years, usually in a classroom, lecture, seminar, workshop, online meeting, or group practice setting. He has facilitated study groups and workshops for centering/contemplative meditation practice meetings since the 1980s. Marc's teaching work meaningfully shifts consciousness in students through the process of spiritual transmission and mystical transformation.  He enables others to embark on the spiritual journey by understanding the Truth teaching and by living its principles in their daily lives. His methodology of instruction is divinely inspired and firmly rooted in pure, authentic mysticism.  Marc's approach to the subject of contemporary mysticism is essentially nondenominational, nonsectarian, culturally interfaith, transreligious, definitively unitive, and unequivocally nondualistic. Within the context of the great shift in consciousness presently occurring all over the planet, Marc’s work focuses on individual and collective spiritual instruction and transformation. He promotes the practice of contemplation or meditation as the vehicle for spiritual transcendence and ascension to the higher dimensions of mystical consciousness. His other contributions to worldwide spiritual awakening and the global contemplative movement include spiritual mentoring, spiritual direction, and spiritual healing work. Marc is firmly committed to the vision of a global spiritual awakening and the divine promise of humanity’s mystical illumination. His brand of mysticism is the only true contemporary mysticism born of 21st century illumination and spirituality.

Hello great blog! Does running a blog such as this require a great deal of work?
I have virtually no expertise in programming however I was hoping to
start my own blog soon. Anyway, should you have any ideas or tips for new blog owners please share.
I know this is off topic however I just had to ask.
    Thanks!

    • Thank you for visiting our site and for your gracious compliment.

This Weblog started with only a short blog about the mystical path on one page. Gradually, by expanding the page content, posting more blogs, and adding subsequent pages over a period of weeks and months, the site started to grow in increments — a little at a time, as I felt inspired or motivated to write content and to express myself creatively. I never forced the development of the site: I merely permitted everything to flow freely as a progression of ideas. Soon I began to notice a content structure forming and a Web design emerging. A vision of the completed blog site continued to unravel in my mind, until the site had become more or less clearly defined.

You can learn more about the origins of the site in one of our early blogs titled How “The Mystical Path” Came To Be.

  5. Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with some pics to drive the message home a bit, but instead of that, this is magnificent blog. A fantastic read. I’ll certainly be back.

    • Thank you for visiting and liking our site, Dwayne.

I have been studying and practicing contemporary mysticism and comparative spiritual systems for over thirty years now, and there seems to be no end to the learning. I did plan on writing a book; however, as things turned out, I ended up pouring out the content into this Web site. At the moment, that appears to be the expression of the divine inspiration underlying the site.

You can read more about the site and our vision in our “About” series of pages. We are also at Facebook.

I appreciate your comments and compliment. Do drop by again as frequently as you can. Also, feel free to correspond by e-mail. Again, thank you.
